Back in September 2017 myself and the guys at Arena Travel announced a special Thanksgiving trip to the USA later this year.

We jointly decided that it’d be a wonderful time to visit Memphis after our extremely successful trip for Elvis Week 2017. Now, after lots of careful planning, we are finally ready to give you all the dates, details and prices.

So many have asked about this trip, and I know some of you are literally standing by to pay deposits as soon as possible. Well, you can do so right away by calling 01473 660800, or by visiting the website where you can book your place(s) safely online.

Myself, Nick Dadd and the team have worked extremely hard to ensure that this will be a holiday of a lifetime for you. We will personally take care your needs, and add lots more besides. We are Elvis fans just like you and we get just as excited by these ventures as you guys do. We want you to experience exactly what we have discovered, and we know that you will do exactly that if you join us for this very special trip.

So, come and experience the best places, the best ideas and the best guests. From our fabulous hotel right in the heart of downtown, to a festive-themed Graceland. From the most highly recommended restaurants to personal introductions to Elvis’ actual friends and family. We have it all covered. Above all else, we want you to make memories and friends. There’s nothing quite like the camaraderie of celebrating Elvis’ legacy in Memphis with other like-minded fans.

Take a look at the itinerary here. It’s fast-paced by day and relaxing at night. As the organisers we will be with you as much as you need us. We are there for you every step of the way, so please be assured that you will be very well looked after. This is what we do best. We know how to take care of business.

DAY 1: November 20th

Morning departure from London Heathrow for the transatlantic scheduled flight via a US gateway city and on to Memphis, Tennessee. Coach transfer to your hotel and the remainder of the evening at leisure.

DAY 2: November 21st

Today is Graceland Day. You will be given your pass allowing you to take a tour of the Graceland mansion as well as the many other exhibits at the Plaza including Elvis’ aircrafts, the automobile museum, the Career Museum and the Elvis Discovery Exhibits. Of course at this time of year Graceland is resplendent with the mansion and grounds decked out in Christmas lights just the way Elvis had it over the festive period.

DAY 3: November 22nd

Thanksgiving Day. This morning will be at leisure. In the afternoon join our Elvis historians on a walking tour of the downtown Elvis sites and take the opportunity to relive some Elvis history and visit some unusual sites that are generally inaccessible on coach tours. We have some long forgotten gems to show you!

Evening at leisure. Although it is Thanksgiving Day most bars and restaurants in the Beale Street area will be open for food and entertainment.

DAY 4: November 23rd

A full day’s guided tour of Elvis’ Memphis – showing you many of the major sights of the city plus places of particular interest to Elvis fans including where he lived, where he went to school, where he performed and lots more besides.

Elvis/Memphis historians, including myself (Andrew Hearn) and Nick Dadd will be on hand to help you get the most from this detailed tour.

The day includes lunch at Colettas, one of Elvis’ favourite restaurants, where we have arranged for you to sample some of the dishes he loved, including the world famous barbecue pizza. And, if we are lucky, Jerry Coletta himself will be on hand to tell us about the times he served their most famous customer.

In the evening join us at the famous Marlows Restaurant on Elvis Presley Boulevard for some great food and entertainment and no doubt a smattering of Elvis’ friends and relatives as guests. Those of you who have travelled with us before will know we are renowned for the guests who take part in our events and if it’s your first time you will be thrilled.

DAY 5: November 24th

First on the agenda is a tour of the Elvis sights of Tupelo – the town (now a city – albeit a small one!) where Elvis was born and lived until he was 13 years old. We’ll see his homes, the schools that he attended, Tupelo Hardware where his mother Gladys purchased his first guitar and other places significant to his life there. After a bite to eat we end the tour at the Elvis Presley Birthplace – an impressive and tastefully landscaped complex housing the tiny ‘shotgun’ wooden home in which he was born, the first church that he attended, the Elvis Presley Museum, Memorial Chapel and the Visitor Centre.

Making this trip extremely unique will be a very special guest indeed. Again, courtesy of Essential Elvis UK, Elvis’ first cousin, Wayne Mann, will be with us for the duration. Wayne (his mother, Lilian, was Gladys Presley’s sister) also grew up in Tupelo and he knows every inch of the city. Wayne and his family lived virtually next door to the Presley’s, and there is nothing quite like hearing recollections from someone who was there – it’s even more special if it’s Elvis cousin!

Evening free.

DAY 6: November 25th

We start today with a visit to Elvis’ Circle G Ranch in Walls, Mississippi. See the ‘honeymoon’ cottage where Elvis and Priscilla spent so much time as newlyweds, the famous white cross and the iconic white bridge over the lake that Elvis and Priscilla loved so much and which is also the spot where Elvis lost his wedding ring!

We then head back into Memphis where we will take a tour of the legendary Sun Studios, the place where it all began!

In the afternoon we will be making a visit to the Tennessee Karate Institute where Elvis both trained and filmed excerpts for the New Gladiator movie. Expect a unique experience as we have something very special lined up for this visit!

Evening at leisure.

DAY 7: November 26th

Morning free to do some last minute souvenir shopping or take in the famous Christmas decorations at the Peabody or maybe purchase that must have clothing item from Lansky Brothers before our early afternoon transfer to the airport to connect with our flight via a gateway city and then overnight to the UK.

Wow! Long meeting with Nick Dadd, without doubt the UK’s most qualified expert when it comes to Elvis’ time in Europe. We spent the morning discussing our forthcoming trip to Germany and how we can make it the most rewarding and enjoyable experience possible for those fans attending.

I am bursting to tell you that we will be cramming in just about everything that we know you’ll want to do and experience, plus more. There simply won’t be any free leisure time until you get to the end of each day to enjoy a well-earned drink or meal. We guarantee that we leave no stone unturned, and we will even be showing you where the familiar location shots were filmed for the 1960 movie, GI Blues.

I happen to know that Nick has just secured a FIRST for our visit, and he was so excited when he told me that I couldn’t possibly tell you how he phrased his first sentence! This, for now, will remain a surprise but I can assure you that it’ll be worth the competitive price of the trip on it’s own.

Book your place(s) now for just £539 per person (twin room – £79.00 single supplement pp).

The weather is usually beautiful in May, and we really do wish to avoid the crowds of the festival in August. It’s warm, tranquil and quiet when we stroll around the parks, shops and streets of Bad Nauheim in May. Please consider joining us for this wonderful trip to see every the sight in connection to Elvis’ time in Germany.

See booking details on the poster. Call Arena Travel today to pay your deposit(s), or to obtain further information if needed.
