’68 Special Shown In Cinemas This August

Essential Elvis UK are delighted to be working with CinEvents, ABG and Fathom to bring the Elvis: ’68 Comeback Special to the big screen in celebration of the special’s 50th Anniversary for a special cinema event starting on August 16th.

Chains confirmed currently include ODEON, Cineworld, Vue, Showcase, Picturehouse, Everyman, Light, Savoy, Omniplex and then a large number of local/independent cinemas across the country.

For any European followers, the event is confirmed to take place so far in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Austria, and Switzerland.

There will be a website (live by the weekend) that will be a central booking site showing the 300 cinemas taking part. We will be letting you know when it’s up and running.

See the iconic television special, that originally aired on December 3rd 1968. It marked Elvis’ return to live performance and re-launched his singing career. This anniversary event includes the legendary television special, plus an exclusive look at the making of the special, featuring a walkthrough of the NBC soundstage with insights from producer Steve Binder and Priscilla Presley.
