Three Straight Arrow Releases

SR

Kentucky Rain

This new release contains the Sunday, February 22nd 1970 Midnight Show at the Las Vegas International Hotel, a previously unreleased concert taken directly from an original audience recorded master tape.

This concert was never available in good sound quality thus far, although in 2007 it was supposedly released on a CD entitled Rock In Black, but it was wrongly dated and in fact, it was the February 23rd 1970 Dinner Show.

The February 22nd Midnight Show recording is slightly incomplete, missing the last song, Can’t Help Falling In Love, so Straight Arrow have included this song, in the same good sound, taken from the February 20th 1970 Dinner Show. It makes the concert sound more complete for your listening pleasure.

As usual, this release is presented in a deluxe 6-panel digipak, with a collection of photos taken in Las Vegas in February 1970 along with a press review.

Tracklisting…

Opening Vamp / All Shook Up / I Got A Woman / Long Tall Sally / Don’t Cry Daddy / Hound Dog / Monologue / Love Me Tender (with false start) / Kentucky Rain / Let It Be Me / I Can’t Stop Loving You / Walk A Mile In My Shoes (false start only) / CC Rider / Sweet Caroline / Polk Salad Annie / Introductions of singers, musicians, orchestra / Suspicious Minds / Introduction of Roy Orbison / Can’t Help Falling In Love (taken from the February 20th 1970 D/S)

Like A Greek God

A 2xCD set featuring the September 4th 1970 M/S and the September 7th C/S shows from the International Hotel in Las Vegas.

The September 4th 1970 Midnight Show is a previously unreleased concert, taken from an original audience recorded tape.

The September 7th 1970 Closing Show was released by the SR label in 2008 in very poor, muffled sound, taken from a degraded x-generation copy (entitled September Nights). Once again Straight Arrow have used an original master tape and restored it to crisp, clear perfection. Elvis’ crazy Closing Night performance never sounded better!

Both concerts presented on this release were recorded by same person. This release is presented in a deluxe 8 panel digipak, with a collection of photos taken in Las Vegas in August 1970 and also features a press review.

Strike Like Lightning!

On the 50th anniversary of Elvis’ fantastic comeback in 1969, Straight Arrow are now able to release a tape that captures the electricity of that event. Until now, they had not released any 1969 live shows, simply because most live tapes from that year are in poor quality. Imagine their excitement when they got hold of a good sounding tape of a sensational gig from that magical year!

The August 8th 1969 M/S is a previously unreleased recording, taken from a newly found audience recorded mastertape. This concert was never available in good sound quality so far, although there was a CD-R with a so-called August 5th 1969 M/S in circulation, which is the same concert, taken from an xxx-generation copy, but wrongly dated and in far inferior audio quality. Original cassette paperwork proves that this concert is definitely the August 8th 1969 M/S!

As a small bonus, they have decided to add 4 tracks, recorded during the August 27th 1969 D/S. Two of these tracks were released by the Victrola label on their conceptual 3xCD album Flesh Blood And Bone, but these were never before available in decent sound quality, before now.

As usual, this release is presented in a de-luxe 6-panel digipak, with a collection of photos taken in Las Vegas in August 1969. Most of the photos were taken by Ann Moses, editor of Tiger Beat magazine. Dig the psychedelic, period perfect artwork!

As for the concert itself… Wow, just wow! Elvis is groovy, sexy, earthy, charismatic, funny… And singing with real fire in his belly, never really heard again after this. Pure greatness!

It’s a Straight Arrow release, so you know what to expect. Every second was digitally restored, every click manually removed, every drop-out fixed to achieve optimal listening pleasure.
