BUY-A-BRICK

Have you ever dreamt of investing in some real estate in Memphis? Well, we can't offer you an entire property, but for just £5.00 you can own at least one brick in a building with a true Presley family connection.

Essential Elvis UK are currently spearheading a campaign to raise funds to ensure that vital and neccessary work can be carried out on Vernon Presley's former home at 1266 Dolan Drive, just yards from Graceland in Memphis. Fans from all over the world would like to see the destroyed carport rebuilt and various other maintainance jobs carried out helping to restore the home to its original spendour.

You can personally help us to acheive this buy sponsoring at least one brick. For your purchase you (or your fan club) will be listed on on a plaque perminantly placed in a prominent position in the home. We have set the cost at a level that is affordable for everyone and there is no limit on the number of bricks you can buy. You will also receive a letter of authentication soon after your purchase.

So tell your family, friends and neighbours about this great opportunity to 'own' a small part of Elvis history. Please help us to make a difference and to guarantee that fans have this much-valued building to enjoy for many years to come. Every single penny will go towards this project and EE:UK, along with the current owner, will not profit from this project personally. We hope that the thousands of you visiting Memphis in August for EW12 will already see a huge change in the property that holds so many memories.

ABOUT THE HOUSE

On October 23rd 1964, Vernon Presley, along with his family, moved from his previous address on Hermitage Road to the house on Dolan Drive.  Soon after taking occupancy, Vernon had a special gate built in the back fence so he could walk to his Graceland office within minutes.  Whenever Elvis visited his father here, he'd use the same gate.  Built in a ranch style, it's sized significantly, and the main bedroom even boasted a large plunge-pool with mirrored walls. By 1976, Dee and Vernon's marriage was over and two years later the home was sold to the proprietors of the Hickory Log Restaurant.
